The Enchantment
One State. One Team. One Goal. $2 Million.
Representing the Land of Enchantment
The name "The Enchantment" reflects the spirit of New Mexico itself - a state with a rich basketball tradition, passionate fans, and a history of producing elite talent. Every game is an opportunity to showcase what New Mexico basketball is all about.

What is TBT?
The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is a nationally televised, summer basketball competition featuring former college stars, professional players, and alumni teams from universities across the country. Founded in 2014, TBT has become one of the premier offseason basketball events in the United States, known for its high-level competition and winner-take-all format.
For 2026, TBT has introduced a new 16-team format featuring some of the most recognizable alumni teams in college basketball. The tournament will culminate in a championship game with a $2 million winner-take-all prize, making it one of the most lucrative basketball events outside of professional leagues.
The tournament is broadcast nationally on FOX Sports and features players with NBA, international, and collegiate experience competing for pride, bragging rights, and a life-changing prize.
Meet The Enchantment
New Mexico's Teams
The Enchantment is New Mexico's official alumni team competing in TBT 2026. Built primarily around former University of New Mexico and New Mexico State University basketball standouts and other players with strong ties to the state, the team proudly represents the passion, toughness, and basketball tradition of the Land of Enchantment.
The Enchantment is more than just a basketball team - it is a celebration of New Mexico's basketball culture, bringing together former Lobos and other New Mexico-connected players to compete against the nation's best.
What Are They Playing For?
The Enchantment is competing for the $2 million TBT championship prize, awarded entirely to the winning team. The 2026 tournament features a winner-take-all format, meaning only one team leaves with the championship trophy and prize money.
Beyond the financial reward, The Enchantment is playing for:
-
New Mexico pride
-
The legacy of Lobo basketball
-
National recognition
-
The opportunity to bring a championship to New Mexico
-
A chance to host the TBT Championship Game at The Pit if they advance through the Alumni Bracket
The team's goal is simple: represent New Mexico, compete at the highest level, and bring the TBT trophy home.
The Road to the Championship
The Enchantment begins its 2026 TBT journey against defending champion AfterShocks, the Wichita State alumni team, in a first-round best-of-three series. The winner advances through the Alumni Bracket with hopes of reaching the championship game on August 2.
If The Enchantment reaches the final, New Mexico could potentially host the championship game, giving fans the opportunity to witness one of the biggest basketball events in the country right here in Albuquerque.
