About Us
Founded by Brandon Mason and based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Mason Spotlight Foundation was created to address the educational and developmental needs of minority and underprivileged youth, with a special focus on accelerated student-athletes. Drawing from years of experience in youth development and basketball education, Coach Mason established the Foundation to ensure that talent, work ethic, and potential—not financial status—determine a child’s opportunity to succeed.
Working in partnership with ABC Prep Academy, New Mexico Spotlight, Albuquerque Prep, local schools, and community organizations, the Foundation provides structured academic support, athletic mentorship, and community programming designed to prepare students for success in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
Our approach is holistic—supporting the mind, body, and character of each participant while engaging families and communities in the process.
Mission Statement
The Mason Spotlight Foundation is committed to empowering minority and underprivileged youth through education, athletic development, and purposeful community engagement. Our mission is to expand access to opportunity for accelerated student-athletes and underserved students by providing mentorship, academic support, leadership training, and enrichment resources that promote lifelong success. We partner with schools, families, and community organizations to remove barriers to achievement and to cultivate environments where young people can excel academically, athletically, and socially. Through structured programs and community events, the Foundation fosters character development, civic responsibility, and pathways to higher education and career readiness.
